Engagement Story

It was May 14th 2026, a Thursday night. Katie had just gotten home from work.
After a nice dinner, it was time to relax with her favorite game: Path of Exile 2.

She sat down at her computer to begin, but something was wrong: the sound wasn't working. She turned to Harry for help. "I'll take a look," he said.

Harry knelt down underneath the desk. He saw the speaker cable, which he had unplugged earlier, and the ring box hidden nearby. He grabbed the box and emerged from beneath the desk on one knee.

...at least, that was the plan.

Unfortunately, Katie had a headache that night and decided to go to bed early instead of playing. The ring box laid there, undiscovered.

The next morning, Katie got her breakfast and sat down on the couch to read. Harry couldn't wait any longer, so he sat down next to her. She was confused - he was usually at his computer working at this hour.

Surprise! He revealed the box and opened it for her.

She was astonished. Both by the ring, which she picked out herself, and by the box which Harry had carefully engineered.

But those familiar with Path of Exile know that a ring cannot be worn until it's been identified.

He presented her with the next part of his gift: a hand-designed item card featuring her own engagement ring.

Though the ring was right in front of her, Katie couldn't stop staring at the card.

It didn't matter to Harry that he didn't get to carry out his little plan from the night before - this moment is worth it.
